Indianapolis, IN — KECO Coatings has completed the acquisition of Teknix Powder Coating (Teknix) in Statesville, North Carolina. This acquisition will enable KECO to transition its Teflon® and plasma coating technology into the southeast territory. Teknix Powder Coating is located in the heart of the NASCAR region, which will make it more convientent for existing NASCAR customers to leverage KECO’s coating portfolio.

Founded in 1980, KECO Coatings is a leading developer and applicator of high performance coatings for the printing, packaging, lighting, aircraft, glass container and racing industries and is a licensed DuPont Teflon® Industrial Applicator (LIA). Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, KECO has sales offices in Charlotte, North Carolina and Tucson, Arizona.

KECO’s President Mike Klinge states, “We’ve been looking at companies in the North Carolina area for a few years, primarily to be closer to our existing customer base and our printing and packaging marketing partners. Through this new location we will be able to service our racing customers who have relocated or expanded into the NASCAR region more efficiently. Services will include high volume automated powder coating, Teflon® and plasma coating. We anticipate additional employment opportunities will be created at Teknix as well as our headquarters in Indianapolis to support this facility.”

Teknix’s President William Warlick states, “I was prepared to sell my company and move on to another career when KECO approached me about purchasing Teknix. KECO’s position in the industry and excellent reputation made the decision to sell easier. KECO has made a major commitment of resources and infrastructure to grow the business, and the acquisition has enabled me to continue what I enjoy doing — managing the sales and marketing for Teknix Powder Coating.”
