Tech Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

May 10, 2007 Indianapolis, IN ----KECO Tech Day a learning experience for those attending. The annual KECO Tech Day was held, May 10, 2007 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the PDM Suite. Those in attendance, customers, vendors, representatives and guest speakers combined a seminar and visits to the pit and garage area during practice for the 91st Indianapolis 500.

Guest speakers were Mike Patterson, President of Intech Services, Inc., Newark, DE. Intech Services, Inc. is the sole United States and Canadian distributor for DuPont TEFLON® and Carlonda Reilly, DuPont Fluoroproducts Global Marketing and Technology Mgr. We also found the open question and answer session with Sam Schmidt, Sam Schmidt Motorsports owner, his drivers Alex Lloyd, Indy Pro Series, Logan Gomez, Indy Pro Series, and Buddy Lazier, IRL driver and 1996 Indianapolis 500 Winner, and PDM Racing’s IRL driver, Jimmy Kite.

In the expanding world of coating technology, new environmentally friendly (“green technology”) coatings are being developed by DuPont and KECO as one of 22 licensed DuPont TEFLON® applicators in North America, has the privilege of accessibility to the new generation of coatings.

During the seminar, several different application and capabilities were discussed.Just to cover two areas discussed: TEFLON® coating provides an easy clean, superior corrosion resistance, FDA acceptable finish and shatter resistance to glass lens and light bulbs. KECO has the capabilities to repair gouges, scored and pits in rolls, shafts, and molds; spot plating of chrome or nickel of already plated surfaces and repair of carbon fiber rolls, worn journals with minimal disassembly with on-site response or in South Carolina location.
